Spa transportation not senior-friendly

Spa transportation not senior-friendly

Rachael Wilkinson, Saratoga Springs

I’m writing about the worst transportation system in the Saratoga Springs area. I found out the hard way on June 15 that the CDTA bus doesn’t take two minutes to drive into the senior high-rise where I live at a certain time of day.

I got on the bus at Wal-Mart with three heavy bags of groceries. On the bus were only myself and one young person, who was going to Skidmore College with no bags.

Now I realize that it was more important to take that person all the way into Skidmore than it was to take a 67-year-old with three heavy bags into where they live.

Grant you, it wouldn’t have been too far of a walk from the street where I was dropped off if I didn’t have any bags. I also realize the bus needed to save those two minutes. For such a big city, we have only one cab company, which you better have plenty of money for. Don’t hold your breathing waiting for a cab to pick you up.
