SARATOGA SPRINGS -- A woman torched a pickup truck and its contents at an apartment complex in Saratoga Springs early Monday morning, police said.

The woman believed the truck was owned by someone she knew, though it was not, police said.

The incident happened at about 2:40 a.m. in the parking lot of the Gaslight Square Apartments, 69 Hamilton St., police said. The truck was owned by a resident of the apartments.

Firefighters contained the fire to the bed of the truck, but the cab sustained significant damage, as did the contents of the truck bed, police said. The bed contained lawn care tools and equipment.

A police investigation determined the fire was intentionally set by Julie A. Gailor, 52, of Saratoga Springs, according to a police report. Gailor is also accused of taking a lawn chair from the truck prior to setting the fire, police said.

Gailor faces one count each of third-degree arson and second-degree criminal mischief, both felonies, as well as misdemeanor petit larceny. She was arraigned and ordered held on $10,000 bail.
