Daniel King, 43, of Schenectady, was sentenced Tuesday in Schenectady County Court to 4-to-12 years in prison.
King previously had pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
King admitted to possessing three separate images of children under the age of 16 engaged in sexual conduct. Authorities said King possessed the images on January 9, 2017, at his residence.
The case was investigated by Schenectady police, state police and the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force. The investigation started when a member of the FBI task force located an image on a peer-to-peer file sharing network that was traced back to King.
King will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release.
Acting Supreme Court Judge Kathleen B. Hogan presided. Prosecuting attorney was Assistant District Attorney John J. Carson. King was represented by James E. Tyner.
