ROTTERDAM -- The detours and one-way traffic restrictions in place during the reconstruction of Hamburg Street will end Monday, the state Department of Transportation said.
The road between East Campbell Avenue and Curry Road has had travel restrictions since last year, as DOT contractors worked on a $12.5 million project to rebuild the road and install sidewalks along a 1.5-mile section of the highway, which is also state Route 146. The town has installed sewer service in the area at the same time.
Starting Monday, Hamburg will return again allow for two-way traffic, with eastbound traffic again allowed.
Work will continue through the fall, and DOT said motorists will continue to see flaggers and experience times when alternating, one-way traffic is necessary.
