ROTTERDAM - A town man has been arrested, accused of forcibly raping a 14-year-old girl, police said.
Gary F. Cherny Jr., 35, of 1828 Amsterdam Ave., faces one count each of first-degree rape and second-degree rape, felonies.
Police received the report Tuesday evening that Cherny may have forcibly raped the girl, and police arrested him Wednesday morning. A police release did not indicate when police say the rape happened.
If convicted of first-degree rape, Cherny would face up to 25 years in state prison.
Cherny was arraigned and ordered held without bail.
