GLENVILLE - A volunteer with a Scotia-Glenville youth league stole more than $3,000 from the group by running up charges on the league's credit card, police said.

Police arrested Christine L. Lemp, 45, of Glenville, and charged her with one count of third-degree grand larceny.

Lemp is accused of taking the money from the Scotia-Glenville Tartans Junior Football League and Cheer between January and June, police said.

Police began investigating after they received a complaint from the group. Investigators determined Lemp made numerous personal purchases on the league credit card, police said.

Lemp was arrested and released to return to court later.
