SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Because of fire- and water-related damage resulting when building was struck by lightning on Friday, City Hall will be closed until further notice, Mayor Meg Kelly's office announced Sunday.
City Hall functions will be conducted at the City Recreation facility at 15 Vanderbilt as soon as possible, with the exact day and time to be announced as soon as possible. The Police Department will continue operating at 5 Lake Ave.
The city is operating in accordance with its City Emergency Manage Plan, the mayor's office said. The plan was created in collaboration with the Risk and Safety Department, Police and Fire Departments, all other City departments, insurance and other experts in the field, and voted on by City Council. The mayor, in accordance with the plan, is the point of Information to the public.
The city will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. The City Council meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday will be held at the Saratoga Springs City Center. The corresponding pre-agenda meeting scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday will be held at the Recreation Center.
