Popular Capital Region band The Refrigerators will open the 2018 Jammin’ on Jay concert series on Thursday, Sept. 6, it was announced today.

Jammin’ on Jay concerts will take place on the Jay Street Marketplace in downtown Schenectady from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is free and food and beverages will be available.

Also featured will be Grand Central Station on Sept. 13 and the annual Schenectady County Battle of the Bands on Friday, Sept. 21.

The series announcement was made by Schenectady County, in partnership with the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corp.

“September may bring the end of long summer nights, but that doesn’t mean we can’t all enjoy some great music outdoors on Jay Street,” said Cathy Gatta, chair of the Legislature’s Committee on Tourism, Arts and Special Events.
