"We get 75 to 100 people every year," said General Manager Micci Miller. "It's the last big race of the year, so we want to go out with a bang."
Miller said the event, which starts at 4 p.m. at 440 Broadway, includes complimentary appetizers, drink specials, raffles and a best hat competition.
"We have a lot of people who come every year, so we're looking to see some new faces, too," she said. "We hope people come and have a great time."
The Adelphi Hotel’s Morrissey’s Lounge is hosting a Travers Day viewing party with small plates and cocktail service. At 7 p.m., the Adelphi Wine and Beer Garden is hosting live music by Tim Wechgelaer and Chris Carey, and open fire pit barbecue.

At Racing City Brewing Co. and Oliva Winery, which opened in March at 250 Excelsior Ave., owners Debreen Oliva and her husband, Tony, are hosting a Travers Day handicapping brunch at 11 a.m., with author and betting analyst Kris Vemulato.
"People come dressed up for the track and they take notes," Oliva said of the brunch series that's been held since the track season started on July 20. "It's a fun way to start off the morning."
Oliva said the handicapping brunch was her son's idea.
"It was a fun way to tie in what we do, which is serve beer and wine, with what we love — horse racing," she said. "It's fun to share our passion about the track."
The Brentwood Hotel is hosting a handicapping happy hour from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 15 Gridley St., featuring handicapper Acacia Courtney.
