City firefighters fight Albany Street blaze

SCHENECTADY -- Schenectady firefighters late Tuesday night fought a fire that heavily damaged a building at 1134 Albany St.

The blaze near Kelton Avenue broke out shortly after 10 p.m.

Smoke was seen pouring from the roof. Sheets of flames appeared behind windows on the second floor shortly before 11 p.m. Firefighters inside the building were called out, and firefighters with hoses hit the front of the structure with water.

There were no reports of injuries at press time.
