Megan Piser scored in the second minute of the second overtime off a Moe Robinson assist to lift Shaker over Niskayuna 3-2 in a Suburban Council girls' soccer match Thursday.

Julia Doriski's goal enabled Niskayuna to tie the game at two in the 36th minute of the second half. Peyton Reihs had the other Niskayuna goal early in the second half, and Olivia Martuscello and Julia Roemer countered for Shaker.

Molly Boone connected in overtime, and Kelly Anderson and Shana Ashcroft combined for 11 saves as Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake beat Columbia 1-0 for its second league win.


Margot Nezaj of Guilderland scored early in the first half, Ainsley Cumming of Saratoga Springs countered late in the period, and the two teams settled for a 1-1 tie. Julia DiMenna set up Cumming's goal.

Caroline Canty scored on a direct kick in the second half to give Schenectady a 1-1 tie with Albany. Kennedy Jones scored in the first stanza for Albany on a penalty kick.

Brooklyn Drago scored two goals, and Morgan Nichter, Megan Steele and Tonya Leggiero each added one as Scotia-Glenville beat Amsterdam 5-0 in the Foothills Council. The Tartans, unbeaten in the 2017 regular season and sectionals, are off to a 3-0 start.

Schalmont knocked off Holy Names 4-1 in a Colonial Council game. Vanessa Wainwright, Davia Rossi and Sofia Cassano had a goal and an assist for the Sabres, and Jules Monlea scored a goal. Ava Panto scored for Holy Names.

Liv Raucci and Izzy O'Clair provided the goals in Mohonasen's 2-0 win over Ichabod Crane.

Kaelyn Lawson had three goals and an assist, and Jayden Kelley, Renee Bogdany and Camille McDonnell each had a goal and an assist, in Voorheesville's 9-0 triumph over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk.

Lilly Phillips and Rhiannon Darling scored second-half goals to give Cambridge a 2-2 Wasaren League tie with Tamarac. Abby Buckley and Isabella Bisceglia scored in the opening half for Tamarac.

Maci Mosher's goal in the fifth minute stood up as Catskill beat Greenville 1-0 in the Patroon Conference.

Alayna Fletcher piled up five goals in Maple Hills' 7-0 win against Coxsackie-Athens.

Brooke Greco and Valerie Schaeffer both scored twice, and Olivia Harris had a goal and an assist, as Duanesburg beat Sharon Springs 5-0 in a non-league game.

Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville forged a 3-0 nonleague win against Fort Plain. Abby Johnson, Kamden Battisti and Alex Klock had the OESJ goals.

Broadalbin-Perth beat Fonda-Fultonville 3-1 on goals by Maria Stewart, Lauralie Grainer and Alayna Preston. Alyssa Duval scored for the Braves.


Dylan Bogdon scored four of CBA's six first-half goals, and the Brothers went on to beat Colonie 6-1 in a Suburban Council game.

Brady Van Epps began CBA's assault in the 10th minute before Bogdon's four-goal outburst, and Sumahri Stewart capped the Brothers' scoring. Keegan Vedder and Van Epps both had two assists.

Evan Farr accounted for all of Saratoga Springs' goals in a 4-1 win over Guilderland. Casey Tynan scored on a penalty kick for the Dutchmen.

Derin Gumustop's goal with seven minutes left gave Bethlehem a 2-1 win over Shenendehowa. Matt Stento also scored for the Eagles, and Eric Makhatadze's goal pulled Shenendehowa into a 1-1 tie.

Merjan Ozisik scored on a penalty kick in overtime, and Said Mefhdan and Nick Viggiani had earlier goals as Niskayuna edged Shaker 3-2. Keegan Flaherty and Austin Hughes scored for Shaker.

Max Nemec and Ethan VanVorst scored second-half goals, and Sean Seck made four saves in Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's 2-0 shutout of Columbia.

Using an own goal and a tally afterward by Eric Schuman, Averill Park rallied for a 2-2 tie with Ballston Spa. Ethan Cook and Michael Robyck had given the Scotties a 2-0 lead.

Niko Moutopoulos scored in the 33rd minute, and Albany Academy beat Lansingburgh 1-0 in the Colonial Council.

La Salle beat Schalmont 3-1 on two goals by Tyler Trahan and another by Colin Giombetti. Ryan Edwards scored for the Sabres.

Kevin Charette recorded a hat trick, Brandt St. Gelais and John Pingelski also notched goals, and Jeff Luce had two assists in Mechanicville's 5-0 Wasaren League win over Saratoga Central Catholic.

Hoosick Falls beat Berlin 3-1 on two goals by Ethan Mattison and one by Zach Cahill.

Greenwich beat Hoosic Valley 4-0, with Charlie Gartner accounting all the goals.

Nelson Htoo, Joseph DePreta and Kyaw Lwin had the goals for Doane Stuart in a 3-1 nonleague win over Northville. Curtis Arnold scored for Northville.

Hudson Falls clipped Gloversville 2-1 in a Foothills Council game Wednesday on a Carter Lewis goal in the second half. Damian Bruce had the Gloversville goal.


Caroline Rooney, Zoe Connor, Juliann Vadney and Emma Malone knocked in goals, and Scotia-Glenville beat reigning Section II Class C champ Schuylerville 4-1 in its Foothills Council opener.

Sage Plemenik had two assists for the 2-0 Tartans. Lainey Koyal scored for Schuylerville.

Taryn Ringer scored three goals and assisted on another, and Emily Fleming had two goals to lift Johnstown over Salem/Cambridge 7-0 in a nonleague game.

Anna Lee had a goal and an assist for the 2-0 Lady Bills, Kalena Eaton scored a goal, and Maddie Etherton had two assists.


Olivia DeBortoli had seven kills, and Izzy Burns collected 22 digs as part of Shenendehowa's 25-14, 25-18, 25-13 Suburban Council win over Bethlehem.

Colleen Murphy had 10 service points, five aces and 10 assists for the defending Section II Class AA champion Plainsmen, and Ashley Lavigne had five kills and 13 assists.

Ballston Spa had leaders in several departments in a 25-14, 25-17, 25-12 win over Averill Park, with Megan McMahon picking up 16 assists, Angelina Stile working for 10 digs, Liza Balet hitting seven kills and Paige Davis serving four aces.

Claire Isaksen assisted on 26 points, and Lindsey Debonis delivered 13 kills as Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake topped Columbia 25-9, 25-19, 25-11. Chesney Romer had seven kills and seven digs for Columbia, and Emma Rainville had 11 assists.

Albany beat Schenectady 25-18, 25-22, 24-26, 25-23, behind Mayah Bright's 10 kills and six blocks, and a combined 27 assists by Lizzy Dillon and Riley McGinn. Gelmajony Marrero Martinez had five kills for the Patriots.

Nicole McGrath had 10 kills, Amber Nunziato had seven kills, and Peyton Legg and Morgan Manning both had 14 assists in Guilderland's 18-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-20 comeback win over Saratoga Springs. Abby Claeson had eight kills for the Blue Streaks, and Lily White had 11 assists.

Niskayuna beat Shaker 25-13, 25-21, 25-18. Stefana Stan had 10 kills for Niskayuna, Cat Schiavi had eight kills, and Molly Mason had 19 digs, 12 points and eight aces. Samantha Hardwick paced Shaker with seven kills and 16 digs.

Colonial Council newcomer Mohonasen swept Lansingburgh 25-9, 25-12, 25-16. Kayla Hopkins had seven kills, and Bry Green had 15 assists for the Mighty Warriors. Carissa Skaarup had 12 digs for the Knights.

Catholic Central beat Schalmont 14-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-18. Shelby Nardini served eight aces for the Sabres, Erin Mahar had 10 assists, and Paige Meshcon and Destiny Hanson both had five kills.
