GLENVILLE -- A boil-water order was issued for a portion of Glenville on Wednesday, after a water main break on Sacandaga Road.
The break also caused Scotia-Glenville school officials to release students from Glendaal Elementary School by 11 a.m., the district said on its website. Students who could not be released to parents or guardians were bused to the high school for the remainder of the school day. The break happened on Bolt Road, near Glendaal.
Water service to the affected areas was expected to be restored by 8 p.m. Wednesday, Supervisor Chris Koetzle said on Twitter. It was unclear when the boil-water order might be lifted.
The order concerns addresses on Sacandaga Road between Van Voast Lane and North Road, a stretch of about 6 miles, along with addresses on Snake Hill Road, Closson Road, Bolt Road, Church Road, North Road, Rector Road, Ridge Road and Maura Lane.
