SCHENECTADY - A falling tree hit a passing car on Fehr Avenue, damaging the vehicle, but leaving the driver uninjured, officials said.

The incident happened on Fehr, near Golf Avenue at around 8 a.m.

The three smashed in the car's windshield and dented in the roof. The driver, identified as Emily McQuide, quickly brought the car to a stop. The incident blocked Fehr as the tree lay in the road.

Fehr Avenue was expected to reopen shortly after 9 a.m.
