SCHENECTADY -- A 21-year-old male dirt bike rider was sent to Albany Medical Center after a Wednesday crash in Schenectady, police said.

The extent of the rider’s injuries wasn’t immediately clear, but police said he was in serious condition. He could be seen at the site of the crash on his feet with a neck brace.

The crash happened at about 12:45 p.m. on Nott Terrace, as the dirt bike appeared to collide with a turning car and continue on to hit a parked car.

The parked car sustained damage to its tailgate, and its back window was smashed out. A helmet lay in the street.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured, police said.

Police could also be seen speaking to a four-wheel ATV rider in nearby Vale Park a short time after the crash.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation later Wednesday, police said.
