Downtown trolley service ending for year

Free service runs during warm-weather months

SCHENECTADY -- The Capital District Transportation Authority will wrap up the second season of the Electric City Trolley in downtown Schenectady on Saturday, CDTA officials said.

The trolley, running several evenings each week from June through September, brought residents and tourists on a route that linked Proctors Theatre, other State Street destinations, Mohawk Harbor, and Rivers Casino & Resort. Total ridership on the free service was 3,518, which CDTA officials said was 770 more people than last year.
