A Queensbury native has joined Kelly Clarkson's team on NBC's "The Voice."
Delaney Silvernell, a 2014 graduate, sang "In My Blood," by Shawn Mendes during the blind auditions on Monday night's episode. Clarkson turned her chair within the first few chords of the song, saying "I love this song."

According to her bio on NBC, Silvernell, 21, comes from a wrestling family but she found it difficult to be one of the only female wrestlers on the team. She was drawn instead to musical theater and worked to graduate early from college to pursue her music career. Silvernell currently lives in Los Angeles. Silvernell describes her music as a cross between pop and R&B.
The Capital Region has seen success on The Voice before. In 2015, the entire region cheered 16-year-old Glen resident Sawyer Fredericks as he won the whole competition.
