Class A, Class B, Class C and Class D pairings for the Section II football tournament were released Sunday.

Quarterfinal games for the Class A, B and C teams will take place next weekend. The Class D and Class AA playoffs — with only four teams in each class — start the following weekend with semifinals. Times for many of the games have yet to be determined. Here are five things to know.

Schalmont (3-1, 4-2) will host Hudson (3-1, 4-2) Tuesday night to determine the No. 2 and 3 seeds from the Class B Reinfurt Division. Their game scheduled for Oct. 5 was postponed when cases of Coxsackievirus were confirmed at Schalmont. The Schalmont-Hudson winner will host Class B North Division No. 3 Hudson Falls (2-2, 4-3) in a quarterfinal, and the loser will play at Class B North Division No. 2 Schuylerville (3-1, 5-2).

Cobleskill-Richmondville (5-0, 5-2) clinched the Class B Reinfurt Division title and No. 1 seed Friday with a 22-21 win over Schalmont. Hudson defeated Ravena-Coeymans-Sekirk Friday 42-6.

Cambridge/Salem (5-0, 7-0) in Class C and Queensbury (6-0, 7-0) in Class A will be the only unbeaten Section II teams in quarterfinal action. Queensbury won a battle of unbeatens at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (5-1, 6-1) Friday, while Averill Park (4-1, 6-1), Stillwater (4-1, 6-1) and Chatham (6-0, 6-1) also suffered their first setbacks in Week 7.

Shaker (7-0) is Section II's only remaining unbeaten team in Class AA and has secured the No. 1 playoff seed. Shenendehowa (6-1) and Saratoga Springs (6-1) will play for the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds Friday in Clifton Park in a game that will determine which team hosts the other in the following week's semifinal round.

Cambridge/Salem, Troy, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake and Glens Falls will each be going after a third consecutive Section II championship. Cambridge/Salem and Troy were not only the area's best Class D and Class AA teams in 2016 and 2017, but the state's best, too, before changing classes this year due to school enrollment figures. Troy is part of the Class A playoff mix that Burnt Hills won eight of the last 12 years.

Class A Capital Division No. 4 La Salle (2-3, 2-5) will be one of two two-win teams in the sectional quarterfinals, playing at Grasso Division No. 1 Queensbury. La Salle beat Amsterdam (1-4, 2-4) Friday 28-20 in a game that determined the Capital No. 4 seed, just days after it self-reported to Section II that it used an ineligible player in two non-league wins and forfeited those victories.

Class B Reinfurt Division No. 4 Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk (2-3, 2-5) also shows two wins in its ledger.

Cambridge/Salem will bring a 15-game win streak — and No. 1 state ranking — into its Class C quarterfinal with Helderberg Valley. Troy and Warrensburg have both won six straight games, and Cobleskill-Richmondville, Schuylerville and Holy Trinity have each strung five victories. Cambridge/Salem and Troy have both prevailed in 32 of their last 33 games.
