ROTTERDAM -- A Rotterdam man was arrested Monday on charges that accuse him of breaking into a car wash earlier this month, police said.

Austin L. Levielle, 39, of 2753 Broadway, Rotterdam, faces one count each of third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and fourth-degree grand larceny, all felonies.

Levielle is accused of breaking into the Sonic Car Wash at 500 Burdeck St., Rotterdam, just after 1 a.m. on Oct. 3. Once inside, he found the keys for the car wash vacuum cleaner machines and stole more than $1,000 from six of them. He also damaged the machines in the process, police said.

Levielle was arraigned and ordered held on $10,000 bail.
