Schalmont secured a 5-0 win Saturday in the Section II Class B girls’ soccer quarterfinals against Johnstown.

Davia Rossi scored twice for the Sabres, while Jules Monlea, Gianna Viscusi and Brooke Galka each added one goal. Ashley Cirilla had two assists, while Monlea and Sofia Cassano each had one in a game Schalmont led 4-0 at halftime.

In the semifinals, Schalmont will play Voorheesville, which won 3-0 against Tamarac. Voorheesville’s Jayden Kelley and Emma Farrell each had a goal and an assist.
Mechanicville won 1-0 against Catskill. Nevaeh D’Aloia had the goal, while Savannah Bowie had nine saves in the shutout. Mechanicville will play Holy Names in the semifinals after top-seeded Holy Names won 6-1 against Catholic Central.

In the first round of the Class C playoffs, Megan Krohn had five goals and two assists in Schoharie’s 12-0 win against Rensselaer. Katie Krohn added two goals and three assists, while Haley Drinon had two goals and an assist. Maddie Phelan, Anna Starks and Morgan Phelan each scored, and the goals for Starks and Morgan Phelan were the first varsity scores for those players.

Stillwater won 9-0 against Granville. Brooke Pickett and Teya Staie each had three goals.

Taryn LaFontaine had the game-winning goal for Mayfield in its 2-1 overtime win against Chatham. Lindsey Hampton had the assist on LaFontaine’s goal, and Hampton also scored.

Hoosick Falls topped Canajoharie 2-1. Skyelyn Haynes scored both goals in the win, while Taya Yacobucci had Canajoharie’s goal. 
Cambridge won 1-0 against Greenwich. Vanessa Evans scored on a penalty kick.

Hoosic Valley won 1-0 against Middleburgh. Zoe Neary scored in victory.

Mariella Hirschoff had the game-winning goal in overtime for Maple Hill in a 2-1 win against Bolton/Warrensburg.

In the Class AA quarterfinals, Jackson Bishop scored in overtime as seventh-seeded Niskayuna upset second-seeded Albany 3-2.

Merjan Ozisik scored twice for the Silver Warriors (12-3-2), who beat Albany earlier in the regular season. 

Kevin Kampulla and Marcello Fazio had the Albany goals.

Shaker topped Shenendehowa 2-1. Jack Cheney scored the game-winning goal in the final seconds of regulation.

CBA beat Guilderland 2-0. Sumahri Stewart and Wyatt Leto scored for CBA.

In a Class B quarterfinal, Mechanicville won 1-0 against Greenville. Jeff Luce had the game-winning goal, and Zach White made 15 saves in the shutout.

Waterford-Halfmoon won the Bulldog Blast Invitational Volleyball Tournament at Berne-Knox-Westerlo, topping Section IV’s Unadilla Valley 25-23, 25-22 in the final. Waterford senior Ashley Formosa took tournament MVP honors.

Schuylerville raced to a 33-0 halftime lead and beat Schalmont 40-6 in a Section II Class B quarterfinal game.

The Black Horses (6-2), who have won six straight games, travel to Cobleskill-Richmondville (6-2) Friday night for a semifinal game. Schalmont (4-4) lost its fourth straight game.

In a Class A quarterfinal, Queensbury topped La Salle Institute 62-8. Liam O’Mara scored all four of his touchdowns in the first quarter, and Joe Slattery added two touchdowns. Queensbury led 34-0 at halftime.

Glens Falls won 61-6 against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk. Top-seeded Glens Falls received five touchdown passes from Joseph Girard III and led 55-0 at halftime.

In a Class C quarterfinal, Cambridge/Salem won 59-6 against Helderberg Valley. Tommy English scored three touchdowns in the win, while Kaedin Ogilvie added two.

Ben Farrell threw a touchdown pass and ran for another as Albany Academy cruised to a 27-0 New England Prep School victory over Tilton School.

Farrell threw a 24-yard TD pass to Mike Brady in the first quarter. Farrell ran for a 14-yard score in the fourth quarter.
