SCHENECTADY -- Two men were shot early Saturday near State and Elder streets, police said.

The victims, both men ages 35 and 26, arrived at Ellis Hospital shortly after a call for a disturbance. Police indicated they were in  stable condition and suggested non-life-threatening wounds.

The incident happened just before 5 a.m. Officers responded to the disturbance call and found two shell casings in the area, but no victims.

A short time later, the two victims arrived at Ellis with gunshot wounds, police said.

Members of the city police department's evidence technician unit processed the scene and detectives continued to investigate, police said.
