SCHENECTADY -- A Watt Street resident is facing charges after he attacked another person with a wine bottle last week in Schenectady, authorities said.

Salvatore Maimone, 81, was arrested Wednesday on charges of second-degree assault, a felony, misdemeanor assault and unlawful imprisonment.

Maimone is accused of hitting the victim with the bottle at about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at his home, according to court documents. The victim suffered pain and a cut and was treated at Ellis Hospital.

He is also accused of punching the victim, causing the victim to fall down stairs, and of preventing the victim from fleeing. The victim suffered pain and swelling to an ankle as a result, according to the allegations.

Maimone was arraigned and released on $10,000 bond.
