BALLSTON - A Friday night sobriety checkpoint in Ballston netted five drunken drivers and other arrests, state police said.

The checkpoint took place as part of the statewide Halloween crackdown holiday enforcement period. Troopers from Clifton Park, Saratoga, Queensbury, Chestertown and Greenwich participated.

The list of those arrested and the accusations against them, according to state police:

Steven Claypool, 43, of Ballston Spa, charged with driving while intoxicated and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors. Claypool is accused of driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.17 and of possessing amphetamine salts. The legal limit to drive is 0.08.

Dillon Sears, 23, of Glenville, charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and violation marijuana possession. He is accused of driving with a BAC of 0.12.

Katie Shanahan, 29, of Clifton Park, charged with driving while intoxicated, accused of driving with a BAC of 0.10.

Thomas Skelly, 28, of Watervliet, charged with driving while intoxicated, accused of driving with a BAC of 0.10.

Christopher Pazro, 39, of Rexford, charged with driving while intoxicated, accused of driving with a BAC of 0.09.

John DeLucca, 39, of Ballston Spa, charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, accused of possessing concentrated cannabis.

The checkpoint also resulted in violations issued, including one for driving while ability impaired by alcohol and eight for violation marijuana possession. Two unnamed 17-year-olds were also charged with possession of alcohol by a minor and marijuana possession, troopers said.
