NISKAYUNA -- Niskayuna police on Tuesday night arrested a 17-year-old town boy and accused him of making violent threats over social media targeting Niskayuna High School.
Police charged the teen, whom they did not identify, with making a terroristic threat and second-degree solicit support for an act of terrorism. Both are felonies.
Police said they were contacted at 3 p.m. by personnel from Niskayuna Central School District regarding social media posts that threatened violence to the high school. Police later were contacted by citizens who had seen the same posts.

The threats were made after classes had been dismissed for the day.
The boy was arraigned before Niskayuna Town Justice Stephen Swinton Jr. and sent to Schenectady County Jail on $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond.
