SCHENECTADY - A city man set a car on fire on State Street last week, authorities said.

Travis W. Lorenz, 32, of Summit Avenue, was charged Friday with one count of third-degree arson, a felony.

Lorenz is accused of stuffing a piece of cloth into the car's gas tank entry Oct. 29 and lighting the cloth on fire on State Street, near Hulett Street, damaging the vehicle, according to police allegations in court.

Lorenz was arraigned and ordered held on $10,000 bail. He remained at the Schenectady County Jail Thursday.
