High schools: Mekeel girls' basketball wins

Jillian Ballard scored 20 points, and Mekeel Christian Academy rallied past Hoosic Valley 38-34 at the Cohoes Tournament Friday night.

Mekeel used a 30-11 run over the middle quarters to gain the upper hand and earn a title-game date with the host Tigers Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

Cohoes beat Stillwater 33-28, with Olivia Huneau and Maggie Saunders scoring 12 points apiece. Marley Mueller paced Stillwater with 15.

Kelsey Wood scored 18 points, and EmmaLee Morgan and Amelia Wood both netted 16, to lift Averill Park past Columbia 63-36 at the Averill Park Tournament.

Shaker beat Saugerties in the other opener at Averill Park 53-42 and will take on the Warriors in Saturday's title game at 5 p.m. Maddi Mahoney and Sole Carrington led Shaker with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Isaiah Knight delivered 31 points, and Trevor Green added 15 as Lansingburgh beat Bishop Maginn 79-56 at the Knights’ tournament.

Green scored nine points in a 32-6 first-quarter run. Trey Corhina topped Maginn with 21.

Brian Moore scored 23 points as Kingston beat Shaker 77-57, earning a 6:45 p.m. title-game matchup with Lansingburgh Saturday. Shaker got 12 points apiece from Anthony Clayton and Joey Mirabile.

Argyle beat Galway 50-41 at the Saratoga Central Catholic Tournament. Peyton Lufkin led the Scots with 27 points.
