SCHENECTADY -- A city man stabbed a woman in the leg with a kitchen knife early Thanksgiving morning, authorities said.

Dereck David, 24, of Chestnut Street, faces one count of second-degree assault, a felony.

The incident happened just before 2:45 a.m. on Nov. 22 at a Stanley Street address, according to police allegations filed in court. Police arrested David soon after.

The woman suffered a cut that required medical attention at Ellis Hospital, authorities said.
