PERTH - A Perth man choked a woman to the point of unconsciousness Sunday, state police said.
Troopers arrived at the residence at about 10 p.m. after a 911 call for a domestic disturbance that involved an unconscious woman, state police said.
Troopers investigated and determined that John Arsenault, 33, of Amsterdam, committed the crime.
Troopers charged Arsenault with one count of second-degree strangulation, a felony.
A state police release did not address the woman's condition further, but no other charges were filed.
He was arraigned and ordered held on $5,000 bail.
