1916 -- The state began vaccinating cattle in Saratoga County to stop an anthrax outbreak along the Kayderosseras.

1953 -- A hunter was paid a $50 bounty for shooting a 53-pound wolf just north of Middleline Road in Ballston Spa.
 
2009 -- In college basketball, defending national champions Kansas defeated Siena, 91-84, at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas. Guard Ronald Moore scored 18 for the Saints.
