ALBANY - A gun reported stolen in Niskayuna more than four years ago has been recovered during an Albany stabbing investigation, police said.

The stabbing happened Dec. 29 at Delaware and Second Avenue in Albany. The 34-year-old victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

On Saturday, police announced the arrest of Jay Rodwell, 27, of Albany, in connection with the stabbing. Police say Rodwell stabbed the victim during an altercation just after 8:30 p.m. that evening.

Police then recovered the .380-caliber handgun from Rodwell's possession during their investigation, police said. The handgun had been reported stolen Oct. 10, 2014 from Niskayuna.

Rodwell faces one count each of second-degree assault, second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, felonies.

He was arraigned and ordered held.
