SCHENECTADY - Two men robbed the Hampton Inn in downtown Schenectady Thursday afternoon, police said.

Police responded to the area and found and arrested both suspects, police said.

The incident happened just after 1:30 p.m. at the 450 State St. hotel. An employee told officers that two men who had been staying at the hotel forcefully took the cash register drawer and fled, police said in a news release.

Officers found both men a short time later with the help of a city police K-9.

Police identified the suspects as Shawn Rowe, 18, of Schenectady, and Dupree Williams, 18, of Utica.

Rowe faces one count each of second- and third-degree robbery. Williams faces one count of second-degree robbery.

Rowe and Williams were being held Thursday evening awaiting Friday morning arraignment, police said.
