High schools: Gibbons boys' basketball wins rain game

In the resumption of the Jan. 9 Western Athletic Conference game stopped because of a leaky roof, Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons defeated Fort Plain 72-52 Saturday behind Rodney Parker’s 22 points, Noah Foster’s 17, and Todd Williamson’s 15.

Jaxson Yacowencia dropped 22 points, and Dawson Nare added 16 for Fort Plain.

In the Foothills Council, Joseph Rowback dropped 39 points and Dante Bouchard added 27 to lift Gloversville over Queensbury 78-67.

Eddie Rogers scored 17 points, and Kaden Calafrancesco added 13 to lead Little Falls past Canajoharie 70-58 in a non-league game. Canajoharie was led by Luke VanSlyke’s 23 points, Joey Nare’s 12 and Max Prime’s 11.

Ozzy DeJesus scored 32 points, and Al Barnhill added 21 to lift Mekeel Christian Academy over Maspeth 74-55.

In the Foothills Council, Hope Sullivan scored 30 points, and Hailey Ballard added 24 to lead Queensbury past Gloversville 74-43. Maddie Jones and Harmony Philo scored 13 points each for Gloversville, and Kendra Lavery added 12.

Andie Gannon dropped 21 points to help Amsterdam beat South Glens Falls 45-34. Sydney Hart scored 13 for South Glens Falls.
Scotia-Glenville defeated Schuylerville 66-19 led by Mikyla Mitchel’s 18 points.

Zoe Eggleston scored 21 points as Whitehall edged Saratoga Central Catholic 46-40 in a non-league game. Ashley Upson dropped 16, and Katie Cronin had 14 for Saratoga Central Catholic.

Lake George defeated Cohoes 54-37 led by Graceann Bennett’s 18 points and Jade Baker’s 11. Olivia Huneau scored 21 for Cohoes.

Sophie Phillips scored 19, Lilly Phillips added 16, and Fiona Mooney had 14 to power Cambridge past Mechanicville 70-36 in a Wasaren League game. Taylor Grayson had 11 for Mechanicville.

WRESTLING
In the NYSPHSAA Division I dual-meet championships, Shenendehowa lost both of its pool matches. The Plainsmen lost to Hilton 
46-21, and Horseheads 40-36.
Warrensburg lost it two pool matches in the Division II event. It dropped a 47-26 decision to Falconer, and fell to Saranac 47-35. 

HOCKEY
Oswego beat Niskayuna/Schenectady/Albany 3-2 in a non-league game.
Theo Angelopoulos and Yoni Eligberg each scored a goal, and Kevin Abatto had two assists for the Mohawks.
