SCHOHARIE - A Colonie man stopped for speeding Monday on Interstate 88 in Schoharie was found with more than a pound of marijuana, state police said.

Nathaniel C. Martin, 20, was stopped as he headed west as he traveled at a "high rate of speed" near the Route 30A exit at about 4:30 p.m., state police said.

Troopers then found in excess of 1 pound, 4 ounces of marijuana in his car, state police said.

Martin was charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and speeding.

He was arraigned and ordered held on $3,000 bail. He is to return to court next week.
