NEWTON, Mass. — Sam Apuzzo had four goals and two assists, and Kenzie Kent added three goals and three assists Tuesday as top-ranked Boston College defeated UAlbany 17-9 in a women’s college lacrosse non-conference game at Newton Campus Fields.

Dempsey Arsenault collected three goals for the undefeated Eagles (10-0), who pulled away from the Great Danes (4-4) with a 9-4 second half.

Sam Tortora assisted on five of UAlbany’s goals. Scoring two goals each for the Great Danes were Kyla Zapolski, Madison Conway, Hailey Carroll and Hannah Newman.

“We fought really hard today for a full 60 minutes against a very skilled and talented team in BC," UAlbany head coach Katie Rowan said. "We had some great stops by Georgia [Schneidereith] and our defense, which helped carry that energy and momentum into the offensive end. I’m really proud of the team’s overall effort and for players stepping up today. We’ll use this as a learning experience as we head into conference play this weekend.”
