Megan McMahon had two doubles to lead Ballston Spa to a season-opening 4-0 Suburban Council softball victory over Shaker on Wednesday.

The Scotties are the defending Section II Class AA champions. 

Ryleigh Haynes went 3 for 4 with a double to lead Troy to an 11-5 victory over Saratoga Springs. Caitlyn Dinardo and Maryssa Sano both went 2 for 4 with two runs scored for Troy.   

Alexis Garrison and Ellen Fuda each had one hit and an RBI to lead Shenendehowa to a 2-0 victory over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. 

Lauren Paul had four hits, including a grand slam, to lead Guilderland to a 25-1 victory over Schenectady. Kendall Rafferty added three hits for Guilderland.

Katelyn Rice went 4 for 4 with a double and four RBI to power Colonie to a 15-2 victory over Albany. Jaclyn Dyer went 3 for 5 with two doubles and three RBI for the Garnet Raiders, while Lily Youngs went 3 for 5 with two doubles. 

Hannah Hofmann had a single, double, and scored a run to lead Galway to a 4-2 Western Athletic Conference victory over Duanesburg. Mikayla Neahr added a single and an RBI, while Alaina Aschamutat contributed a double for Galway. 

Sam Keaney went 2 for 4 with five RBI to lead Canajoharie over Schoharie 10-5.

Destiny Farr had a three-run homer to lead Mechanicville to a 17-2 Wasaren League victory over Stillwater. Erin Salvadore had a double and three singles, while

Hanna Garone had two doubles and a single for Mechanicville. 

Jai Santiago had two doubles, and Ryenne Relyea added a triple to lead Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons to a 13-1 victory over Middleburgh. With the victory, Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons improves to 3-0.    

Michaela Arcate went 3 for 3 with a double and a home run to lead Mohonasen to a 5-1 Colonial Council victory over Ichabod Crane. Mohonasen remains undefeated with a 3-0 overall record and 2-0 in the Colonial Council.

BASEBALL

Aaron Whitley had two hits to lead Niskayuna to a 6-4 Suburban Council victory over Averill Park. 

Brendan Disonell had two hits and two RBI to lead Shenendehowa to a 8-2 victory over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. Jack Voce added a hit and two RBI for Shenendehowa. 

Jake Sparks had a grand slam and six RBI to lead Hoosick Falls to a 15-4 Wasaren League victory over Tamarac. Cody Hodges added two RBI for Hoosick Falls. 

Devin Garland pitched 6 1/3 strong innings with  strikeouts and threw hits to lead Mechanicville to a 2-1 victory over Stillwater. 

Terel Tillman and Dante Marin each had a single and two RBI to lead Saratoga Catholic to a 8-0 victory over Hoosic Valley.  

Mike Castracani had three hits and four RBI to lead Waterford-Halfmoon to a 12-11 victory over Cambridge. Michael Talavera added three hits and three RBI, while

Thomas Phelan contributed one hit and two RBI for Waterford-Halfmoon. 

Ethan Drinon had two doubles and a single to lead Schoharie to a 10-0 Western Athletic Conference victory over Mekeel Christian Academy. Quin Barton added a double and a single for Schoharie. 

Bryce Thibodeau had a double and two singles to lead Fort Plain to an 18-1 victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo. 

Von Baker went 1 for 4 with three RBI to lead OESJ to a 6-3 victory over Fonda-Fultonville. 

Jack Wilkie had two hits in three at bats to lead Schalmont to a 4-0 Colonial Council victory over Watervliet. 

Drew Coelho pitched two-hit ball over five innings and drove in a run to lead Mohonasen past Ichabod Crane 2-1.

Gil Bell had two singles to lead Coxsackie-Athens to a 10-7 non-league victory over Johnstown. Conner Diviyak had a double and a single, while Mick Winton added two singles for Johnstown.  

Christian Baaki had two hits and two RBI to lead Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons to a 8-1 non-league victory over Blessed Virgin Mary.

Jake Palmer scored four goals and had two assists, Josh Hanlon had two goals and two assists, Dan Kekis and Bryce Jones each had two goals and an assist.
