In celebration of The Daily Gazette's 125th anniversary, the newspaper will publish newsworthy items from past editions and past decades. 

On April 14

1930: Schenectady Boy Scout Troop 37 is formed at Glenridge sanitarium, with its eight charter members all patients.

1952: Staff at Ellis Hospital set a record for tonsillectomies, removing, for free, the tonsils of all eight of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Olshefsky's children.

1965: Ending a state budget stalemate, the New York Legislature approves a 2 percent statewide sales tax.
