The Center for Economic Growth and the Upstate Alliance for the Creative Economy announced their merger and plans to focus on programs to boost the Capital Region's creative economy via a jointly-issued press release Monday. 

Formed in  2016, The Alliance for the Creative Economy helps to promote creative industries in the Capital Region, while the Center for Economic Growth has worked as the region's leading economic development organization for years.

In announcing the merger, the organizations also rolled out a series of initiatives focused on boosting the Capital Region's regional brand and to expand tourism opportunities.
