GLOVERSVILLE - The operator of the vehicle that struck and killed a Gloversville man late Saturday and then fled the scene has been found, police said Monday.

Police also located two passengers who were in the car at the time 61-year-old Lawrence Douglas Irby, Jr., was struck and killed, they said.

All three have been interviewed and released, police said. No charges have been filed and the investigation is continuing, police said.

Police were working closely with state police and the Fulton County District Attorney's Office to analyze and process evidence. Criminal charges will be based on the analysis of the evidence, police said.

The vehicle remains in police custody.

Police on Sunday identified Irby as the man killed. He was more commonly known as "Doug."

Irby was struck and killed at about 8:20 p.m. Saturday on East Fulton Street, between Judson Street and Littauer Place, police said. The driver that struck him fled the scene.

Irby was taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital by ambulance, but he was pronounced dead there.
