WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Hailey Carroll scored four goals, and Bridget Simmons added three goals and an assist Saturday as the UAlbany women’s lacrosse team rolled to a 23-5 America East victory over Hartford.

Kathryn Sancilio and Kadi Futia each scored three goals as the Great Danes (5-1 AE, 9-6 overall) scored the first five goals of the game. They would take a 16-2 lead at halftime.

UAlbany won 27 ground balls to Hartford’s 12, and outdrew the Hawks (0-6, 1-15) 16-10.

“We had a great team effort today and I was really happy with the ball movement all over the field,” UAlbany head coach Katie Rowan said. “Draw controls were a focus for us, and I’m proud of how we fought for possessions against a scrappy team in Hartford.  We’ll enjoy this and get back to work on Monday.”
