Drew Coelho went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs to spark Mohonasen to a 10-0 victory over Schalmont in a Colonial Council game between Rotterdam rivals Saturday.

Dom DePiero added two hits and scored two runs for the Mighty Warriors, who limited the Sabres to just two hits.

It was a scoreless game until Mohonasen broke loose for seven runs in the fifth inning. The Mighty Warriors, who banged out 11 hits, added three more runs in the sixth inning.

James Ward struck out seven in his first varsity start to help Queensbury blank Hudson Falls 7-0 in the Foothills Council.

Nate Angell tripled, singled and added two RBIs, while Tyler Spaulding was 2-for-2 to lead Queensbury.

Jack Krug had two hits and Isiah Logan drove in two runs as Canajoharie topped Galway 6-4 in the Western Athletic Conference.

Joe Herbst homered for Galway.

Massimo DiCaprio drove in three runs with two hits and also struck out 12 to pace Fonda-Fultonville over Duanesburg 7-2.

Cade Kearns drove in four runs, Brady Myles went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Justin Kearns also was 2-for-4 as Fonda-Fultonville came back later in the day to defeat Mayfield 11-1.

The Braves are 9-3 in the WAC and 9-5 overall. Matt Gentile knocked in a pair of runs for 3-8 Duanesburg. Mayfield is 1-9 in the league.

In the Wasaren League, Saratoga Central Catholic pulled out a 5-4 victory over Mechanicville with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.

In the seventh, Ross Garrow doubled to left, and Nick Winslow drove him in with a single to tie the score. Terel Tillman singled to center, moving Winslow to second, and with a drawn-in infield, Dante Marin singled in the winning run.

Tillman struck out 12 for the 11-2, 14-2 Saints. Jacob LaFountain struck out 13 for 8-3 Mechanicville.

Dalton Maxon hit a two-run homer to help Tamarac defeat Cambridge 5-1.

Hoosic Valley edged Greenwich 4-3 as pitcher Nick Santiago and Isaac Carlo each had two hits.

Cole Hedden collected a pair of hits, including a walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth, to spark Niskayuna over Albany Academy 8-7 in a non-league game.
James Murphy had two hits and three RBIs, and Chris Erickson chipped in with a triple and a single for the Silver Warriors (11-3).

Guilderland (9-7) split a pair of non-league games, beating Freeport 7-6 and losing to Massapequa 12-5.

Baldwinsville blanked Saratoga Springs 1-0 as the Blue Streaks were held to just two hits.

In the Colonie Cup Tournament, senior Jason Macutek limited CBA to three hits over 5 2/3 innings as Shaker won 6-3 in the championship game. Pat Walters drilled a two-run double for the Blue Bison. Peter O’Toole homered for CBA.

In the first game, Alanzo Barrett had four hits, including a triple and a double, and Matt Snyder added three hits to carry Shaker past Colonie 9-2. Dan Barbero homered for Colonie. In the second game, Colonie defeated CBA 10-6.

SOFTBALL

Megan LaMont tripled and singled, Shelby LaMont ripped a two-run homer and Jordyn Wozniak hit a homer and a single to lift Amsterdam past Hoosic Valley 4-2 in the championship game of the Mayfield Tournament. MVP Sydney Szczepanik struck out six and allowed one earned run in the championship game.

Szczepanik tripled, and Wozniak had two hits in Amsterdam’s 10-3 win over Mayfield. Jillian Botch doubled and drove in two runs for the Panthers.

Hoosic Valley beat Salem 2-1, and Salem defeated Mayfield 15-8 behind three RBIs from Kaitlyn Dunlavey. Taryn LaFontaine homered and singled twice for Mayfield.

Emma Willard beat Taconic Hills 6-5 in the Central Hudson Valley League.

Hannah Breen struck out 13 and tossed a two-hitter, Jadin Swartz tripled, driving in three runs, and Christine Mallette, Leah VanDerwarker and Kasen Lemay added two hits apiece in South Glens Falls’ 8-1 win over Victor.

South Glens Falls also beat Susan Wagner 9-1 as Courtney Robarge picked up her first varsity win, and both Lemay and Keagan Lajeunesse homered and delivered two hits apiece.

Liam Ferris scored six times and added three assists to lead Bethlehem over Archbishop Stepinac 15-7 in a non-league match.

Schuylerville beat Mohonasen/Schenectady 18-2 as Jay Carte scored seven times, and Tyler Bowen added five goals.

TRACK

Guilderland won the girls’ team title, and Saratoga Springs captured the boys’ team title at the Queensbury Invitational.

For the girls, Ama Boham of Ichabod Crane won the 100 meters and the 100 hurdles, while Kelly Moran of Stillwater took the long jump and triple jump.

For the boys, Jaylen Pritchard of Hudson Falls doubled in the 100 and 200 meters. Kirk Francis of Saratoga Springs’ won the high jump, long jump and triple jump.
