MAYFIELD - A Gloversville man made two false reports of child abuse last month to the state, state police said.

Benjamin A. Manieri II, 35, was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of third-degree falsely reporting an incident, misdemeanors.

Manieri is accused of contacting the New York State Central Registry, Office of Children and Family Services April 3 and making two reports of child abuse. An investigation showed those reports to be false, state police said.

Manieri was arraigned in Town of Mayfield Court and released on $5,000 unsecured bail to return to court later.
