Amsterdam DPW continues flushing water mains

Amsterdam DPW continues flushing water mains

Officials with the City of Amsterdam Department of Public Works have released the water main flushing schedule for Friday, May 17. 

Water mains on the following streets and areas will be flushed between 6:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day: 

  • McClellan Avenue
  • Lincoln Avenue
  • Arnold Avenue
  • Trinity Place
  • Storrie Street between Market and Chestnut streets
  • Bunn Street
  • Academy Street between Glen Avenue and Wall Street
  • Thomas Street between Trinity Place and Prospect Street
  • Blood Street
  • Chestnut Street
  • McElwain Avenue
  • Henry Street
  • Wilson Avenue
  • Glen Avenue between McClellan Avenue and Fairview Place
  • Lindbergh Avenue between McClellan Avenue and Bunn Street
  • Garden Street between Academy and Mechanic Streets
  • Wall Street between Academy and Mechanic streets
  • Mechanic Street between Garden and Wall streets
  • Brandt Place between Major Lane and Lindbergh Avenue
  • Market Street between McClellan Avenue and Prospect Street

Residents are advised that water may be dirty or appear discolored after the mains in their area are flushed. Officials are aware of this condition and say that it will dissipate by running cold water through interior faucets to flush the dirty or discolored water out.
