SCHENECTADY — Four suspects have been arrested in connection with a Thursday morning bank robbery at the Sunmark Federal Credit Union in Schenectady.
Following reports of the robbery at 1616 Broadway, police used descriptions provided by bank employees to identify Zacharia Etherton, 18, Joshua Vasquez, 24, and an unidentified juvenile female in the First Avenue area.
The suspects had a plastic shopping bag with an unknown amount of U.S. currency, police said.
The heist yielded $1,200, authorities said.
Two additional suspects, Tyren Ivey, 22, and James Watkins, 38, were located near 1302 Lower Broadway in possession of a stolen vehicle, police said. They were accompanied by a third occupant, who has not been charged.
Most face multiple charges:
Etherton has been charged with third-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny; Vasquez, second-degree robbery, first-degree coercion and fourth-degree grand larceny; Ivey, second-degree robbery, second-degree coercion and fourth-degree grand larceny.
Watkins faces one charge of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
All are Schenectady residents and are currently detained at city jail pending arraignment.
