Union College names new trustees chair

SCHENECTADY — Union College this week named Robert Bertagna, a 1985 graduate, chairman of the college's Board of Trustees.
Bertagna, vice chairman and head of mergers and acquisitions at Macquarie Capital in New York, will replace John Kelly III as head of the trustees. Kelly will continue to serve on the board.
Bertagna studied economics while at Union and played defensive back on Union's football team. He also earned a letter four years in a row for track and field. Union last fall renamed the stadium at Bailey Field for Bertagna and his wife, Julianne, and his classmates who graduated in 1985.
"This is a tremendous honor," Bertagna said in a statement released by the college. "I owe much of who I am today to the education and experience I received at Union."
