Kelly Mayette struck out 12 and scattered seven hits in a complete-game effort to lead Scotia-Glenville to a 2-1 Section II Class A softball quarterfinal victory over Mohonasen on Wednesday.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Mohonasen’s Kyra McCarthy hit an RBI single to tie the score 1-1. Scotia scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh on an error.

In other Class A games, Lauren McElligott hit a go-ahead two-run single in the seventh as Troy scored seven times in the inning to beat Averill Park 8-6. Maddy Rifenberick and Maryssa Sano had two hits each for Troy.  

Ballston Spa defeated Amsterdam 7-0 as Angelina Stile hit a grand slam in the sixth inning and finished with five RBI. 

Kasen Lemay had a home run and double among her three his and drove in three runs to lead South Glens Falls to a 7-3 victory over Lansingburgh. Christine Mallette went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored, and Leah VanDerwarker went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for South Glens Falls. 

Taylor O’Brien went 2-for-3 and pitched and complete-game two-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead Columbia to a 5-2 Class AA quarterfinal victory over Saratoga Springs. Meg Dougherty went 1-for-2, with two RBI, and Marissa Daley had a double for Columbia. 

Chloe Van Buren hit a solo home run to lead Colonie to a 2-1 victory over Shaker.

Bethlehem defeated Guilderland 9-7. 

Erin Salvadore went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBI to lead Mechanicville to a 5-1 Class B quarterfinal victory over Cobleskill-Richmondville. 

Natalie Myers had a double and RBI to lead Schuylerville to a 2-0 victory over Glens Falls. 

Ichabod Crane defeated Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons 13-1. 

Lauren Maines went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Haley Spiezio added a home run to lead Greenwich to a 9-4 Class C quarterfinal victory over Canajoharie. 

Germantown defeated Heatly 5-4 in a Class D quarterfinal.
