MALTA -- GlobalFoundries announced a leadership change for its Malta computer chip factory Wednesday.
Peter Benyon, vice president and general manager at GlobalFoundries' Fab 7 in Singapore, will become general manager at Fab 8 in Malta, effective July 1, according to Ron Sampson, senior vice president and general manager of the company's U.S. operations.
Benyon will report to Ron Sampson, who will continue to be based at GlobalFoundries' Malta site and will be responsible for all U.S. fab operations.
Benyon has over 35 years of industry experience and has run the Singapore Fab 7 facility for a decade.
