LATHAM — Latham-based fuel cell manufacturer Plug Power on Tuesday announced it had acquired the technology, personnel and assets of EnergyOr.
The Montreal-based firm specializes in compact fuel cell systems that increase payload and run times for robots and drones, and its acquisition expands the portfolio of Plug Power, which is concentrated on material-handling applications such as forklifts.
Plug Power said it will use its established sales channels to bring the technology to market at scale. It said it will use each company’s technology to boost the other’s products.
EnergyOr is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Plug but will remain a Canadian company.
