SCHENECTADY -- SUNY Schenectady County Community College officials have announced that the campus will remain closed for the rest of the day Wednesday.
Earlier this afternoon, SUNY Schenectady officials hoped to reopen the campus at 6 p.m. today. Instead, all classes and activities originally scheduled to take place at the main campus have been cancelled.
The closure does not effect classes at the College's Center City or Kindl sites.
According to a release issued by the college early Wednesday afternoon, the outage is the result of of a mechanical issue with a generator. Efforts to restore power are currently underway.
