SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Police are investigating after a man was found in a Saratoga Spa State Park parking lot Thursday night with life-threatening assault injuries.

The man, whom the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation has yet to be identified, suffered severe injuries to his head and body. The office said the man was found in the west Route 50 parking lot near the Saratoga Performing Arts Center after State Park Police received a 911 call shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The man was taken to Albany Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.

Park police are being assisted by the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Saratoga Springs police. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Spa State Park Police at 518-584-2004.
