CLIFTON PARK -- A Halfmoon man stole another patron's wallet at a Clifton Park gym and then used a credit card inside to make purchases, state police said.
Justin Debrosky, 36, was arrested Friday and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, three counts of third-degree identity theft, misdemeanors, and one count of petty larceny and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors.
The wallet's owner told police he'd lost it at the Vent Fitness in Clifton Park after it possibly fell out of his pants pocket in the gym's locker room, state police said.
Troopers zeroed in on Debrosky after a credit card that had been inside the wallet was used to make purchases at various stores that totaled $940, state police said.
Investigators used surveillance images from the stores and the fitness club to identify Debrosky and make the arrest, state police said.
Debrosky also had two outstanding arrest warrants in other local jurisdictions. He was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail on $1,500 bail.
