For many, Lake George is the place to be during the summer for a beach-side vacation, a day out at one the area’s many theme parks, or a dinner out with friends.

But year-round, Lake George and the surrounding area offer a plethora of shopping opportunities for souvenirs and specialized gifts for friends and family. 

The Daily Gazette has compiled a list of some popular shopping spots for locals and tourists alike to find gifts, clothes, luxury goods and anything they need for the summer and other occasions.

Lake George Olive Oil Company
Canada Street, Lake George

With another location in Glens Falls, this speciality store provides over 50 different types of olive oils and balsamic vinaigrettes, customers can sample anything they want prior to making a purchase, or to simply satisfy their own curiosity.

Customers can also choose from special gift packages, or create their own packages to purchase. This shop also offers other dining accents, including dressings, sauces, pestos and spices, all locally sourced.

Aviation Mall
Queensbury, New York

With over 40 different retailers in one place, this mall is a one stop shop just outside of Lake George for locals who need to purchase something for their day-today lives, or for tourists looking to experience a new, large shopping center.

Aviation Mall features shops dedicated to sporting goods and athletic wear, jewelry, footwear, casual clothing and homeware. The mall also offers food and drink shops open to weary shoppers, or travelers searching for a quick bite to eat.

Voted a top gift shop in Lake George for years, Live Laugh Love provides a variety of Adirondack-area centered souvenirs.

From clothing, jewelry, baseball cards to Lake George sunglasses and slippers, Live Laugh Love should be at the top of the list of places to stop for those searching for the perfectly Lake George gift.

Glenwood Manor Antiques
Queensbury

Operating out of a Georgian Mansion with 34 rooms and 28 antique dealers with offerings ranging from vintage antiques to more modern collectibles, Glenwood Manor Antiques provides a plethora of antiques that can be used in any area of a home, from toys, to art and other decorations and furniture.

Adirondack Winery
Various locations

With tasting rooms in both Lake George and Bolton Landing as well as a production facility in Queensbury, this operation offers something for all wine enthusiasts.

Customers can visit the winery year round. Over a decade of operation of this family-owned business has made Adirondack Winery a go-to for local wines that prominently feature nature-based art of the surrounding area, outings with friends, and a place to buy the among the most Adirondack-specific gifts for people all over the country.

Adirondack Outlet Mall
Lake George, New York

For those looking to make a day-trip out of a shopping experience, the Adirondack Outlet Mall is one of many local outlet centers and offers over a dozen famous name outlet stores filled with huge savings. 

Stores included in this outlet mall are L.L. Bean, Famous Footwear, Dress Barn, Eddie Bauer, Timberland and Under Armour.

The Outlets at Lake George
Lake George, New York

Another expansive outlet mall in the village, these outlets offer discounted prices at over 60 percent off at high end retailers including Adidas, Coach, Harry and David, Michael Kors, Yankee Candle amd Ralph Lauren.

Bolton Landing Farmers Market
Bolton Landing, New York

The Bolton Landing Farmers Market is held on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Aug.30. and prides itself on connecting the community with its vendors, of which there are over two dozen offering various products, from fruits and vegetables to furniture.

The market is stroller, wheelchair, and leashed dog friendly.

Glens Falls Farmers Market
Glens Falls, New York

This market is held on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon in the South Street Pavilion in downtown Glens Falls until October.
Like the others in the area, products at the Glens Falls market are all locally sourced, and range from aromatherapy products to wood artisans and florists. Fresh fruits and vegetables can also be found.

Lake George Village Farmers Market
Lake George, New York

Rounding out the trio of popular farmers markets is the Lake George market itself. Held in Shepard Park on Wednesdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and offers an abundance of  produce, plants, meats, and homemade crafts.

French Mountain Commons
Lake George, New York

Another one of Lake George’s four major outlet centers, French Mountain Commons offers deals from Banana Republic, Gap, J.Crew and Moose on the Loose Deli.

Log Jam Outlet Center
Lake George, New York

The fourth of Lake George’s major outlets, Log Jam offers shopping opportunities at Brooks Brothers, Guess, Chico, Olympia Sports and Wilson’s Leather.
